Crescendo Entertainment has signed a deal with the estate of Duane Diddy to handle rights to the late great Rockabilly stars works.
Duane Diddy was born in the mountains from the Pop Diddy family back in 1978 and was weaned on pork rinds mixed with mountain blues tunes. He went off to Nashville and played a bit of the old oprey as a back up to the stage manager. Later he moved to the Blue Plate Special and started to wail.
Duane Diddy’s Untimely Demise Shocks Rockabilly World
His untimely demise in Italy from a race car accident in his Bugatti racer made headlines in Europe as the US has all but forgot the contributions Duane made to Rockabilly. His hits “Donde Vas” and “Bombs In The Building” are generally acclaimed rock hits, but one of his rare hits, “Junkie Boys Stole My Car” is one of the hidden gems in Diddy’s musical career. Written when Duane woke one morning to find his car had been stolen. Two days later the police found it near to a heroin shooting gallery and Duane retrieved it. Two days after that it was stolen again and this time Duane knew where to find it. After talking to a few people he found out one of his neighbors was a junkie and had been taking the car to go get his fix. The song is a tribute to junkies stealing cars and what it does to the owners.
All the great music from Duane Diddy and the connections of Crescendo Entertainment make for a great management deal for the pair. With Crescendo Entertainment handling the rights and promotion for this late great artist the sky is the limit.
